My husband, Paul, and I are parents of two wonderful teenage children. Becoming a mother has been, without question, the best decision I’ve ever made.
In 2022, I lost my beloved younger brother, Anthony, to cancer. His passing left me with huge sadness that I continue to navigate.
Like many of us, I often lie awake at night thinking about accelerating environmental destruction and the rampant inequalities that rule our world.
To retain a modicum of sanity, I’m devoted to yoga and walking in Cape Town’s mountains with friends. During the COVID lockdown, I discovered an outlet in making mosaics from found sea glass and broken china, and more recently, in oil painting. I’m very much an amateur – for me, it’s all about the process of making.
I love watching films and series, and am usually reading two books at once, one with my eyes and one with my ears – happily not at the same time. Most mornings start with coffee and a cryptic crossword. I need the dopamine hit from cracking a clue or two, combined with caffeine, to rev me up for the day!
